Becoming a Landlord in the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program

Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Englewood Housing Authority through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.

The HCV Program provides rental assistance to eligible families in the private rental market. Landlords receive a portion of the rent directly from EHA through reliable, on-time direct deposit payments.

Landlord Responsibilities

Landlords participating in the HCV Program agree to:
  • Provide housing that is decent, safe, and sanitary
  • Maintain the unit in compliance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS)
  • Charge a reasonable rent for the unit
Important: All units must pass an initial inspection and continue to meet HQS standards for as long as housing assistance payments are received.
Approval of a household for the HCV Program does not represent an endorsement of tenancy or a guarantee of tenant behavior.
