Eligible units may include single-family homes, townhouses, or apartments and are not limited to subsidized housing developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Housing Choice Voucher Program is administered locally by the Englewood Housing Authority (EHA) and funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families who receive a housing voucher are responsible for locating a suitable rental unit where the property owner agrees to participate in the program. The unit may include the family\u2019s current residence. All rental units must meet HUD\u2019s minimum health and safety standards, as determined through inspection by EHA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once approved, EHA pays a housing subsidy directly to the landlord on behalf of the participating household. The family is responsible for paying the difference between the total rent and the subsidy amount.
